First Shock Delivered in Minimal Time
With the LIFEPAK CR2, even users with only basic BLS/AED training can initiate lifesaving care in just 2 steps:
1.Open the device cover and expose the patient's chest.
2.Pull the red handle and apply the electrode pads to the patient.
When bystanders provide CPR and deliver a shock with an AED within 3–5 minutes of collapse — before emergency services arrive — the likelihood of a successful resuscitation increases significantly.
Integrated CPR Guidance with AED Use
The LIFEPAK CR2 supports rescuers with clear visual diagrams, voice instructions, and automated functions. CPR guidance gives users the confidence to perform compressions correctly. When no CPR is detected, the device prompts the user to begin and uses a metronome to help maintain an effective rate.
During resuscitation, users receive audio-guided adult CPR instructions. A single button press switches to pediatric CPR guidance.

Intended Use
Defibrillation
Used to treat certain potentially fatal arrhythmias, including ventricular fibrillation and symptomatic ventricular tachycardia.
AED is intended for use only on patients in cardiopulmonary arrest. The patient must be unresponsive, not breathing normally, and showing no signs of circulation.
Standard defibrillation pads are for use on adults and children aged 8 years or older, or weighing more than 25 kg (55 lbs). For children under 8 years of age or weighing 25 kg (55 lbs) or less, the defibrillator may be used with Infant/Child Reduced Energy Defibrillation Electrodes.
ECG Monitor
The ECG monitor can be used on patients of all ages, whether conscious or unconscious, to identify ECG cycles and monitor heart rate.

HeartSine SAM 500P
This device uses the HeartSine samaritan ECG arrhythmia analysis algorithm to evaluate the patient's heart rhythm and determine whether a therapeutic shock is appropriate. If a shock is required, the HeartSine samaritan PAD charges and prompts the user to press the shock button. If a shock is not advised, the device pauses to allow the user to perform CPR. Notably, this device will not deliver a shock unless a lifesaving shock is clinically indicated.
This device is designed to rapidly deliver defibrillation shocks to patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). It complies with the current joint CPR and emergency cardiovascular care (ECC) guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the American Heart Association (AHA). The device is a semi-automatic defibrillator with an integrated CPR Advisor.

CPR Metronome
When the device prompts the user to perform CPR, an audible beep sounds and the "Safe to Touch" indicator light flashes at a rate consistent with 2015 ERC/AHA guidelines. This feature — the CPR Metronome — guides the user on the correct chest compression rate throughout CPR.
CPR Advisor
Compression skill is critical when performing CPR on a patient in sudden cardiac arrest. High-quality CPR significantly improves the patient's chances of successful resuscitation. Research shows that lay rescuers, due to limited experience, often perform ineffective CPR. The CPR Advisor on this device guides rescuers on both the force and rate of compressions. Using transthoracic impedance measurement to analyze compression depth and rate, the device instructs the user to compress harder, adjust their rate, or continue — in accordance with ERC/AHA resuscitation guidelines. Feedback is delivered through both audio and visual cues.
